Preview to Summer Link Up: Childhood Favorites

This week’s topic from the Preview to Summer Blogger Book Swap is Childhood Favorites.

ChildhoodFavorites I already posted on this topic here during The Book Chat. By far, as a younger child, The Baby-Sitters Club was my favorite, however, as I grew more into an adolescent, I was intrigued with autobiographies and biographies, especially those about stars from old Hollywood.

I guess my love of musical theater started the fascination, I begin reading about stars I loved performances of. From the books, I learned about more musicals, watched them and looked for books on more stars. It was an informative and entertaining cycle.

One of my favorite performers is Judy Garland. Her biography, Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland is a great synopsis of her many ups and downs, and gives proper focus to her staggering talent.

What were your favorite books as an adolescent?

  1. That is one of my favorite Judy Garland songs. I bought a cd as a teenager because I wanted that song. I’ll have to check out that biography!
