Aside from the insane humidity and massive amount of mosquito bites, NOLA was a complete blast! It is incredibly charming with a fun, energetic atmosphere.
We started off with a relaxing drink by the river:
There was quite a bit of Bourbon St. antics:
Mint Juleps at The Carousel Bar in Hotel Monteleone:
Drinks at Lafitte’s, the oldest bar in the US:
The last day of our trip was spent tubing on the Bogue Chitto River through Wayne’s World tubing. We went on the 4 hour tour. We happily floated down the river in huge inner tubes. I really wish I would have had a water proof camera. The river and surroundings were lush, beautiful and relaxing. This was the only shot I got, before we started the trip:
This was my first trip to the South, and I was taken by it’s beauty and charm. I hope to visit much more in the future!
I haven’t been to NOLA in years (and not at all since going vegan), but I really want to go back! Especially for the tubing trip, although… what about gators??
I was told we may see baby gators and was actually looking forward to it, but no luck.
I’m so jealous! I kind of want to do a habitat for humanity trip in New Orleans. It’s just a place I’ve always wanted to visit, and after a friend did the trip I’ve always wanted to as well! Looks like you had a good time 🙂
That would be amazing!
